I am somewhat over weight and have had stretch marks around my hips and thighs for a few years. I use cocoa butter on them and they are no longer red-purple but are not almost skin-color, but they are still sort of shiny (if that makes sense) and they stick out a little. I also have just a few little spider veins on my calves and thighs and some cellulite on my butt and thighs.
I am starting to eat healthier and exercise. If and when I lose weight, will the cellulite, stretch marks, and/or spider veins “heal up” at all? Or will they always look the same as they do now?

Feb 18, 10 at 12:18 amStretch marks will fade away or lighten up. Honestly it depends on how old you are. The older you are the more likely they’ll stay. Spider veins will not go away. They are broken blood vessels in your legs. Probably from standing on your feet all day. You would have to get those surgically removed.

Feb 18, 10 at 12:26 amthis is bad news.. in my experience, losing weight make them worse, well, I dont know about spider veins or cellulite, but stretch marks appear when the skin STRETCHES, your skin will change when you lose weight. Probably cellulite will get better or not get worse if you tone your muscles…

Feb 18, 10 at 1:00 amthere should be some type of beauty product you can use…
I think no matter how hard you work out and tone, they will always be there. Not you, but everyone in general.
There is stuff you can buy over the counter, but it’s pretty pricey…it may help though. I think Loreal makes one, for cellulite. I used it, and noticed a difference, but nothing too dramatic. good luck.

Feb 18, 10 at 1:22 amWith regard to cellulite, exercising is probably the best way to reduce the appeasance. Try doing exercises that target the sepecific area you are worried about. Also running is an incredible way to reduce the amount of cellulite you have. As for spider veins, stretch marks, and to an extent celuulite you can thank your parents. Theses are predominantly hereditary and although exercising may help a little it is nearly impossible to get rid of. I personally have a couple stretch marks on my shoulders and am in great shape (I run 3 miles everyday and go to the gym 3 days a week). I hope this helps and good luck. And remember exercising isnt just going to help you appearance wise it will put you in better physical shape and you will feel healthier.

Feb 18, 10 at 2:20 amYes, if you loose weight your stretch marks will fade especially if you use a lotion to help such as a cocobutter lotion but your spider veins will not go away unless you get them removed but if you get a tan they will not be so noticeable and the cellulite will look better if you loose weight also and it may go away.

Feb 18, 10 at 3:20 amI just answered your other question about cycling !!
Yes, you will definitely change yourself if you decide to change your attitude towards yourself … I was very overweight, had stretch marks and cellulite… and I’m a GUY !!!!
Now, that’s all gone !!!
And I feel great !!!
You don’t need to do triathlon like I do, just make healthy decisions ;^)
Go for it ;^)
Change your life and change your attitude towarde yourself ;^)
Good luck :^)

Feb 18, 10 at 4:14 amStretch marks will generally fade with time, but will never disappear completely; as for cellulite, it’s hit and miss as well. I knew a marathon runner who maybe weighed 100# soaking wet and was totally buff, but she had the worst cottage cheese thighs I had ever seen. And as for spider veins, these are pretty much permanent as well although I have read quite a bit about doctor’s injecting the area with a saline solution to minimize appearance.
